One day workshop for pianists with small hands (London)

2 February 2020 10.30am - 5pm

This London workshop is open to pianists of all standards (professional performers and teachers, students and amateur pianists) who are interested in learning more about Penelope’s approach to healthy piano playing and teaching, with particular regard to the issues faced by pianists with small-to-medium-sized hands. It is also relevant to teachers who wish to understand better how to teach children with small hands. Covering technique, repertoire, modifications, avoiding injury and small keyboards.

The morning session focuses on a discussion of the problems involved and a study of Penelope’s strategies and exercises. In the afternoon, each participant will take it in turns to bring certain pieces or difficulties up for more general discussion. There will also be plenty of opportunity for more informal discussion and exchange of ideas with other attendees.

Courses are held at Penelope Roskell’s London studio on Queen Elizabeth’s Walk, N16 5UQ

Fee £75, (EPTA and ISM members £70). Full-time music students £40.
